A Bengali card follows a gentle, formal order: the blessing of the deity, the family's request, the couple, the lagna time, the venue, and the separate bou bhaat (reception) line. The samples below are in Bangla script and can be copied as they are or shortened for a phone.

What goes on the card, in order

শ্রী শ্রী প্রজাপতয়ে নমঃ
Most Bengali Hindu cards open with the blessing of Prajapati, the deity of marriage. Some families add their ishta devata.
নিবেদক — the hosts
The inviting parent writes in the first person: 'আমার জ্যেষ্ঠ পুত্র / কন্যা ...'. Older relatives' names may sit at the bottom as নিবেদক.
পাত্র-পাত্রী — the couple
The groom is written as শ্রীমান [নাম] and the bride as শ্রীমতী / কল্যাণীয়া [নাম], usually with the other parent's name and town.
শুভ লগ্ন — date and time
The Bengali date (e.g. ২৮শে মাঘ ১৪৩৩) is given with the English date and the exact lagna window.
বৌভাত ও প্রীতিভোজ
The reception at the groom's home is usually a separate line with its own date, time and address.
অনুরোধ — the request
Ends with 'সবান্ধবে উপস্থিত থেকে নবদম্পতিকে আশীর্বাদ করবেন' — come with your family and bless the couple.

Common questions

Should the Bengali date be written along with the English date?
Yes. Most families give the Bengali month and year for the lagna and the English date in brackets, so older and younger guests both read it easily.
Who signs a Bengali wedding card?
Usually the father or the eldest member of the family, as নিবেদক. Modern cards often just sign as the two families.
Can I add bou bhaat on the same digital card?
