Indian wedding invitation wording in English

Many Indian families write the card in English so relatives across states can read it. The order stays traditional — blessing, hosts, couple, muhurat, venue, request — only the language changes. Copy the samples below and replace the details.

Common questions

Should parents or the couple host the invitation?
Traditional cards come from the parents; modern ones start with 'Together with our families'. Both are fine — choose what suits your family.
How do I write the time?
Write the day, date and time in full: 'Friday, 12 February 2027, at 7:30 pm'. Guests planning travel rely on this line.
Can I add mehendi, sangeet and reception?
Yes. On DATIXY each function is a separate event with its own date, time and venue, and guests can add them to their calendar.
