A Hindi nimantran patra follows a settled order — the invocation, the elders' blessings, the parents, the couple, the muhurat, the venue, and the request to come with the whole family. What goes on the card, in order

मंगलाचरण: The card opens with ॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥, ॥ श्री हरि ॥ or शुभ विवाह, often with a Ganesh motif above it.
आशीर्वाद: The names of grandparents or elders whose blessings are being invoked, written as आशीर्वाद — often those who have passed are named as स्वर्गीय.
निमंत्रक — the hosts: श्री [नाम] एवं श्रीमती [नाम] — the parents inviting. Their address or town follows in smaller text.
वर-वधू — the couple: The groom is चि. [नाम] and the bride आयुष्मती / सुश्री [नाम], with each set of parents named alongside.
शुभ मुहूर्त: Day, English date, and the exact lagna time: दिनांक [तारीख], [वार], प्रातः/सायं [समय] बजे.
स्थान एवं निवेदन: The venue with the full address, then सपरिवार पधारकर वर-वधू को आशीर्वाद प्रदान करें — and the inviting family's name below.

Common questions

शादी कार्ड में चि. और आयुष्मती का क्या अर्थ है?: चि. का अर्थ चिरंजीव है, जो वर के नाम से पहले लिखा जाता है। वधू के नाम से पहले आयुष्मती या सुश्री लिखा जाता है — दोनों आशीर्वाद सूचक शब्द हैं।
Should both families be named on one card?: On a joint digital card, yes — it saves sending two links. Printed cards are usually separate, each side naming itself as the host.
Where do the sangeet and reception timings go?: Below the main muhurat, each as its own line with its own venue and time, so guests attending only one function can see it at a glance.
